One year ago today, on Saturday August 4, Brooke & Jason were married at the Toronto Ontario Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!
Brooke is from Ontario, Jason is from Texas. Over 2371 kilometres away from each other and yet their paths still crossed. They met while attending school at Brigham Young University in Rexburg, Idaho.
Being “married in the temple” is what you might commonly hear from members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Temple wedding ceremonies are not like regular wedding day ceremonies. The sacred ceremony is held inside the temple, typically no more than 20 people. LDS members believe that when they are married, or “sealed“, in the temple, they are married/sealed together for time and all eternity, not just “till death do you part”.
Brooke & Jason promised forever to each other. It’s an incredibly beautiful thing.
They decided to get married in Ontario before the next semester started for them, charging into the school year as a newly married couple. It was an intimate gathering of the ones they loved. Despite growing up in two different countries, their closest family members were present to celebrate them. This was the first temple wedding we photographed that was purely just the closest family awaiting them to exit the temple. No bridesmaids and groomsmen either. Just the two of them were enough. The pure joy that lit up their faces says it all.
Happy Anniversary, Brooke & Jason!!
We hope you had an amazing year learning and growing together. We wish you so many more to come.
Lots of love, Ariana & Alex
